YJV and YJV22 cables are cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated power cables with a voltage range from 0.6/1kV to 35kV, widely used in low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution projects worldwide. With their superior electrical performance, high current-carrying capacity, and strong environmental adaptability, YJV and YJV22 cables are the preferred solution for electrical engineers, building contractors, municipal power companies, and industrial park developers.
The YJV series cables utilize high-purity copper conductors, cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, and a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) outer sheath, offering superior performance:
- The XLPE insulation can withstand operating temperatures up to 90°C for extended periods, exhibiting excellent heat resistance, aging resistance, and low dielectric loss.
- Compared to traditional PVC insulated cables, it offers higher current carrying capacity, supporting stable high-load power transmission.
- Excellent moisture-proof, waterproof, and chemical corrosion-resistant properties extend service life and reduce long-term maintenance costs.
- Compliant with IEC international standards and CE, RoHS, and other certifications are available, meeting global project acceptance requirements.
- YJV Unarmored Cable: Without steel tape armor, lightweight, flexible, and suitable for conventional indoor installation.
- YJV22 Steel Tape Armored Cable: Features an added steel tape armor layer, resisting mechanical compression, impact, and rodent damage, suitable for harsh underground installation environments.
YJV and YJV22 0.6/1kV~35kV cables can meet the power distribution needs of all the following scenarios:
- Substation and distribution room outgoing lines
- Power distribution networks for industrial plants, commercial parks, and logistics parks
- Municipal medium-voltage underground power transmission and urban power grid upgrades
- Power supply for residential communities, schools, hospitals, and public infrastructure
- Cable tray, cable trench, conduit, and tunnel cabling projects
Suitable for installation environments without external mechanical pressure:
- Indoor cable trays, bridges, and conduits
- Indoor cable trenches and tunnels
- Indoor overhead and enclosed cabling systems
- Not suitable for direct burial, road burial, or installations subject to rolling or impact from heavy objects.
Designed for complex and demanding installation environments:
- Suitable for direct underground installation in municipal and park projects
- Suitable for outdoor cable trenches and integrated conduit corridors
- Suitable for rocky soils, areas with rodent infestations, and areas affected by mechanical construction interference
- Suitable for underground power transmission in on-site and remote projects
- Ambient Temperature Requirements: Do not install when the ambient temperature is below 0℃. Before laying in low-temperature environments, please preheat appropriately to prevent cracking of the cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation layer.
- Strictly Control Minimum Bending Radius: Avoid sharp bends during construction. Please follow standard bending radius parameters; excessive bending will damage the internal conductor and insulation structure, affecting electrical safety.
- Cable Protection During Construction: Do not drag, scratch, trample, or subject the cable to heavy pressure. Always keep the outer sheath intact to avoid insulation damage and potential safety hazards.
- Standard Direct Burial Construction: YJV22 cable direct burial construction method: Lay 100mm fine sand at the bottom of the trench, evenly place the cable, and then cover it with another 100mm of fine sand. Lay a concrete protective slab to isolate sharp stones and external pressure. Adjust the burial depth according to the standards for green areas, driveways, and frozen soil layers.
- Armor Layer Grounding: Both ends of the steel tape armor layer of the YJV22 cable must be reliably grounded to stabilize the operation of the medium-voltage system and prevent the risk of induced voltage.
- Heat Dissipation and Spacing: When multiple cables are laid in cable trenches or cable trays, reasonable spacing should be reserved. Overly dense arrangement will weaken heat dissipation and reduce the actual current carrying capacity.
- Corrosive Environment Adaptability: Avoid long-term laying in strong acids, strong alkalis, and severely corrosive soils. For special chemical industry locations, additional protective pipes and anti-corrosion accessories should be provided.
- A wide voltage range, from low to 35kV medium voltage, meets diverse engineering design needs.
- Higher current carrying capacity and thermal stability help optimize cable cross-section selection and control total project costs.
- Clearly distinguishable between armored and unarmored types, suitable for various common laying methods in municipal, building, and industrial projects.
- Stable performance, long service life, and low maintenance costs make them ideal for international bidding and standard engineering designs.
As a global standard for cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) cables used in power distribution, YJV and YJV22 cables combine high safety, high load-bearing capacity, and flexible installation adaptability. Unarmored YJV cables should be selected for conventional indoor installations, while armored YJV22 cables should be used for direct burial and harsh environments. Strict adherence to installation specifications is essential to ensure the long-term safe and stable operation of the entire power distribution system.
